BAA06 38 Rail mercenary recruitment

Rail mercenaries are recruited to serve on Factory Train 12 in Battle 31.

Mercenaries are used by the Factory to supplement its army, guard the Station Gates, protect the Factory Railroad,[1] and guard vehicle convoys. When Den charged the Scrapyard, he smashed through the Factory 11 Station Gate, encountering mercenaries at first when the Factory defense system froze up following the fall of the Ground Investigation Bureau.[2] Deckman 50's attempt to get some water for an injured convoy mercenary sets in motion the events of the side story Homecoming.

Colonel Bozzle, a Barjack commander, was initially mentioned to be the former leader of a mercenary squad, but this was later changed.[3]

Figure Four served briefly as rail mercenary, while Yolg served two stints.

In Last Order[]

Vilma Fachiri was a freelance mercenary known as the "Blue Widow" who fought and captured Yoko after she had carried out Operation Maulwurf[4] in ES 386.[5]

In ES 591, the private military companies Deimos Mercenary Service and ZANBER provided support to the allied military forces during Operation Hagel.[6]
